As you pondered whether the Director could truly be behind this, everything seems to come together. Every NCA employees’ internet activity is tracked except the Director’s. With full autonomy and a top security clearance only surpassed by the President, the Director could control any segment without authorization from a higher up. His actions in the name of security and law enforcement are so classified that he is the only citizen whose internet activity is not tracked, including NCA employees. Additionally, the director is the only employee with a kill switch for webpages for the rare case that things run out of control.
The socialist message sent to you, the fake name pointing to a famous cybernetics professional who worked for a socialist government; these must have all been used to throw you off the scent. The Director is known for being outspoken in opposition of direct democracy but a full supporter of the representative democracy that the US previously held. Yet these facts also pointed you towards the director because he would have motive to shake civilians’ faith in their voting system. The Director is the only suspect that made sense.
